01 Acceptance and Scope

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the website www.stjohnassociation.com and the Association's training programmes, educational resources, certificates, events, registrations, donations, memberships, volunteering opportunities and other services.

By accessing the Website, registering for a programme, making a payment, submitting an application or using any Association service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Website and services.

These Terms should be read together with the Association's Privacy Policy, Refund/Cancellation Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer and any programme-specific terms.

02 About the Association

St. John Ambulance Association India undertakes lawful charitable, educational, humanitarian and community-oriented activities, including:

  • First Aid, CPR and AED education and training;
  • emergency preparedness, disaster management and safety education;
  • road and public safety awareness;
  • health and community awareness;
  • educational and social welfare activities;
  • volunteer and community-service programmes;
  • seminars, workshops and awareness campaigns; and
  • development and distribution of educational and training resources.

The Association may modify, suspend or discontinue any programme subject to applicable law and organisational requirements.

03 User Eligibility and Responsibilities

Users must provide accurate and complete information, have the legal capacity required under applicable law, and use the Website and services only for lawful purposes.

Users must not submit false documents, impersonate another person, misuse certificates or accounts, interfere with Website security, or violate applicable laws or Association rules.

Where a person acts on behalf of an organisation, they must have appropriate authority.

04 Training, Attendance, Examination and Certification

Training may be conducted online, offline, hybrid or at institutional/client premises. Programme-specific requirements may include eligibility, attendance, practical demonstrations, assessments, examinations, fees and certification conditions.

Participants must follow trainer instructions, safety requirements and examination rules. Cheating, impersonation, unauthorised assistance, record manipulation and submission of false documents are prohibited.

Certificates are issued only when applicable course requirements are fulfilled. A certificate may be withheld, cancelled or reviewed in cases involving insufficient attendance, unsuccessful assessment, unpaid fees, identity/document verification, fraud, impersonation or misconduct.

Association certificates certify participation, assessment or completion only to the extent stated on the relevant certificate. They must not be represented as a medical licence, professional healthcare registration or statutory qualification unless expressly recognised by a competent authority.

No person may forge, alter, digitally manipulate, reproduce, sell, transfer or falsely represent an Association certificate.

05 First Aid, CPR, AED and Emergency Disclaimer

Association training and educational materials are provided for awareness and training purposes. Completion of First Aid, CPR or AED training does not guarantee a particular medical or emergency outcome.

Training does not authorise any participant to diagnose disease, prescribe medicines, practise medicine or perform regulated professional services without the qualifications and permissions required by law.

In an actual emergency, appropriate emergency medical services and qualified medical assistance should be contacted.

06 Fees, Payments, Refunds and Donations

Applicable fees shall be communicated before payment wherever reasonably practicable. Payments may be processed through authorised banks or third-party payment gateways.

Users are responsible for providing correct payment and registration information and should retain transaction/reference numbers, receipts and confirmations.

Refunds, cancellations and reversals shall be governed by the Association's applicable Refund/Cancellation Policy, programme-specific terms, payment-provider rules and applicable law. Administrative, processing, examination or certificate-related charges may apply where legally permissible.

Donations are voluntary contributions and are not purchases of guaranteed employment, certification or services unless expressly stated. Tax benefits, where applicable, depend upon prevailing law and donor eligibility.

Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks are prohibited. The Association may provide relevant transaction and service records to banks, payment providers or competent authorities in connection with disputed transactions.

07 Association Name, Logo, Certificates and Intellectual Property

The Association's name, logo, emblem, certificate formats, seals, website design, training materials, photographs, videos, documents, graphics and other original content are protected to the extent permitted by law.

No person may use Association branding, certificates, official documents, training materials or identity without appropriate written authorisation.

No individual, trainer, volunteer, centre, franchisee, partner or other person may represent themselves as an authorised branch, representative, trainer, franchise, certification authority or official partner unless authorised in writing.

Unauthorised use, reproduction, commercial exploitation, modification or misleading representation may result in withdrawal of authorisation and/or appropriate legal action.

08 User Content, Photography and Privacy

Where users submit photographs, testimonials, comments, feedback, reviews or other content, they remain responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions.

Users must not submit unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, privacy-infringing, malicious or copyright-infringing material.

Participants at training sessions, workshops and events may be photographed or recorded for legitimate organisational, educational, reporting, archival or promotional purposes, subject to applicable law and required consent.

Personal information may be collected and processed for registration, training, examinations, certificates, donations, volunteering, communications and other legitimate activities in accordance with the Association's Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

09 Safeguarding, Conduct and Health & Safety

The Association expects staff, trainers, volunteers, participants and partners to maintain professional and respectful conduct.

Harassment, sexual misconduct, exploitation, abuse, intimidation, violence, bullying, discrimination and deliberate endangerment are prohibited.

Participants must follow venue safety instructions and trainer directions. Programmes involving children or young persons may require parental/guardian consent and additional safeguarding measures.

Serious safeguarding or misconduct concerns may be reported to the Association and, where required, referred to the appropriate authority.

10 Website, Third-Party Services and Cybersecurity

The Association endeavours to maintain accurate and accessible Website information but does not guarantee that all information will always be complete, current or error-free. Course dates, fees, venues, trainers, schedules and programme details may change where reasonably necessary.

The Website may use third-party payment, banking, communication, hosting, educational, mapping or other technology services. Such services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Users must not introduce malware, ransomware, viruses or harmful code, attempt unauthorised access, bypass security controls, disrupt Website operation or systematically copy protected content without permission.

The Website may temporarily be unavailable because of maintenance, technical failures, cyber incidents, telecommunications problems, power failure, third-party interruptions or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

11 Prohibited Activities

Users must not:

  • engage in unlawful or fraudulent activity;
  • impersonate any person or organisation;
  • submit false information or documents;
  • manipulate certificates or official records;
  • misuse the Association's name or branding;
  • make unauthorised commitments on behalf of the Association;
  • engage in examination misconduct;
  • harass staff, trainers, volunteers or users;
  • attempt unauthorised access to systems;
  • distribute malicious software; or
  • violate these Terms or applicable law.

12 Liability, Indemnity and Force Majeure

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Association shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from Website use or service interruption.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Users agree, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to indemnify the Association and its authorised officers, employees, trainers, volunteers and representatives against claims or losses arising from unlawful use, violation of these Terms, fraudulent information, intellectual-property infringement, privacy violations or misuse of certificates or Association branding.

The Association shall not be treated as being in breach where performance is prevented or delayed by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, fire, epidemic/pandemic restrictions, government restrictions, war, civil disturbance, transportation or telecommunications failure, cyber incidents and third-party service failures.

13 Complaints, Suspension and Termination

Complaints concerning training, payments, registrations, certificates or other Association services may be submitted through official contact channels with sufficient supporting information.

The Association may suspend or terminate access to services for serious violation of these Terms, fraud, unlawful activity, certificate misuse, unauthorised branding, cybersecurity threats, non-payment, impersonation, serious misconduct or legal/regulatory requirements.

Nothing in these Terms restricts any statutory right or remedy available under applicable law.

14 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in India.

The Association encourages users to first resolve complaints through its internal grievance mechanism. Where appropriate, the parties may explore mediation, conciliation or another lawful dispute-resolution mechanism.

Subject to applicable law, disputes may be brought before a competent court having jurisdiction over the Association's registered office and/or the relevant transaction.

15 Changes, Severability and Final Acceptance

The Association may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, technology, services, security, payment procedures or operational requirements. The updated version will be published on the Website with the revised “Last Updated” date.

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Continued use of the Website or Association services after publication of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

16 Official Contact and Verification

Users should communicate only through the Association's official contact details published on the Website. The Association does not authorise persons merely claiming association with it to collect money, issue certificates, offer employment, grant affiliation or make official commitments.

Suspicious requests for money, documents, passwords or OTPs should be independently verified through official channels.
